ACER open letter on certain REMIT compliance deadlines

In its recent open letter, ACER takes a position on the publication of inside information. With the letter, ACER wants to provide clarity for market participants and enable them to set priorities in the implementation of Regulation (EU) 1227/2011 on the integrity and transparency of the wholesale energy market (REMIT).

In the open letter ACER comments on the following topics:

• The reporting of inside information via an Inside Information Platform (IIP) is mandatory from 1.1.2021. There is no extension of the deadline.
• Notifications can effectively be reported via IIP with a successfully passed first phase in the ACER assessment.
• Market participants must use the backup solutions of the IIP from 31.12.2021. Disclosure via the own company website are only temporarily possible.
